Brief course description:
This programme focuses on the skill of situational assertiveness applied to
work situations. It explores the differences between aggression, non-
assertion, and assertion, and their effects on communication. It applies
assertiveness to issues such as: Making requests, disagreeing & stating your
views, giving & receiving praise, giving bad news, using authority and
managing conflict. The programme also explores the main types of assertion
ranging from the basic to more advanced forms. It also equips participants
with more sophisticated skills to use in situations where assertiveness alone is
not sufficient.
